The WH Fund sub-account for funding the evaluation of nominations by the Advisory Bodies was created in 2019 (Decision 43 COM 14). It aims at sharing the costs of evaluations between the WH Fund and the submitting States Parties through the payment, on a voluntary basis, of a lump sum to the Fund, allowing for a shifting of resources to conservation activities. In 2021, the Committee decided to use up to 40% of the funds available in this sub-account during the period August 2021-September 2023 to fund the Preliminary Assessment activities that take place in 2023, being mindful that the sub-account shall also be used to support conservation activities (Decision 44 COM 14).
