ICCROM's statutory functions in relation to the 1972 World Heritage Convention are to carry out research, documentation, technical assistance, training and public awareness programmes to strengthen conservation of cultural heritage. Its advisory services include training for cultural heritage, monitoring the state of conservation of World Heritage cultural properties, reviewing requests from International Assistance submitted by States Parties, and providing input and support for capacity-building activities.
