GCP's work focuses on improving the relevance of education systems and addressing global challenges to peace, justice, human rights and democracy through education. It adopts an approach that is holistic, gender-transformative, culturally sensitive and human rights-based, so central to fostering creative and responsible global citizens who contribute to peaceful, just, inclusive, and sustainable societies. UNESCO will continue to sustain its global leadership in GCED through its normative guidance and intensify efforts to support national education systems operationalize these tools.
