GCED and ESD are gaining prominence across the globe, in both policy and practice due to their multi-faceted, cross-disciplinary and holistic nature and their relevance to development in the country context. Given the complexity of the issues involved there is a need of continuous capacity building and advocacy initiatives for policymakers, managers, material developers and teachers for better understanding to mainstream the GCED and ESD elements in the policy as well as teacher training curriculum including teaching and learning materials to prepare the learners as a global citizen.
