UNESCO Santiago will carry out analytical work on the state of education in the region and coordinates the response to the needs of Member States in the areas of education planning and management, including monitoring, information systems, education statistics, and their use and impact on the coverage and quality of education. Additionally, its Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE) will support Member States in the better use of information of the results generated by the Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study (ERCE) to know where they are in the educational trajectory, to build evidence on what works to achieve greater coherence of education policies, and better alignment between policy goals and processes within and across systems.
