Project ID 2210212091

The rich and diverse natural heritage sites, biodiversity, geological and landscapes in Namibia are yet to be promoted at international level and included in existing UNESCO global networks for scientific knowledge sharing. This refers for example to possible nomination for a UNESCO Global Geopark and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve under the UNESCO Designated Science Sites. Building on past interventions, the activity will support the geopark nomination process in Namibia. Furthermore, advocacy intervention will be strengthened to demonstrate the potential of Biosphere Reserves as sites of learning for sustainable development through a bottom-up approach.
