MAB regional and sub-regional networks have a key role to play in fostering the harmonious integration of people and nature for sustainable development regionally. Asia and Pacific Biosphere Reserves (APBR) form a network of 168 sites in 40 countries including 2 transboundary (both are transregional/transcontinental) sites. They cooperate within sub-regional networks of East Asian BR Network (EABRN), South and Central Asian MAB (SACAM), Southeast and East Asia BR Network (SeaBRnet) and PacMAB for Pacific Island States. This WP/activity will provide a strategic support to Member States to implement Asia-Pacific BRs regional priorities defined within the MAB Strategy and Lima Action Plan and with regard to the SDG's implementation (in particular, SDG 15).
