Environmental resilience is a critical challenge for Caribbean SIDS as they face climate change, biodiversity loss, sea level rise and related disasters, which collectively destroy ecosystems and limit the region's ability to achieve sustainable development. Therefore, this activity aims at supporting Caribbean SIDS in ensuring sustainable management of their natural resources and ecosystems, by strengthening their protected areas, promoting environmental education, and reconciling the protection of their geological heritage with local economic activities, mainly through geotourism. This activity will thus promote transformational outcomes at the national and regional levels, enhancing the resilience and prosperity of the local communities that depend on natural resources and ecosystems.
