Project ID 2210215111

The Activity will contribute to a better appreciation of ILK in the Caribbean and their positive impact in addressing environmental challenges. The strategy will be to: (i) counteract the loss of ILK, observing and documenting them, and recognizing their value for sustainable development ; (ii) mobilize the full potential of Natural Scientists - ILK holders cooperation on a range of important issues such as climate and ecosystems-based adaptation and biodiversity loss; (iii) drive interdisciplinary and multisectoral partnership towards environmental-related ILK systems; (iv) bolster best practices sharing and transmission of environmental information as a contribution to the UN Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022-2032).
