The National Council of Civil Defense requested UNESCO's support for developing Early Warning System, where this programme shall contribute toward building collaboration with all potential partners for Early Warning System for Floods being a priority that have devastating impact on Sudan for years. Additionally, this programme shall continue and build on previous efforts for strengthening Integrated Water Resources Management in Sudan and in particular assisting the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources implementation of Water Sector Strategy developed in 2021 until 2031. Thus, this programme contribute to 41 C5 KPI/1 and 9th phase of IHP strategy plan (2022-2029) "Science for a Water Secure World in a Changing Climate".
