During the 40/C5 UCO transitioned from IHP-VIII to IHP-IX. Focus will be promoting the role of science in informing water management decision making. This activity will expand knowledge base on non-conventional water resources in the Region, provide policy and technical support on developing national CC adaptation plans in the water sector, promote the deployment of UNESCO Sites as laboratories for climate change impacts, and develop baseline data on hydrological and water sciences higher education in the region. The activity will promote gender and youth engagement is consistent the Arab Strategy on Water Security and with the regional Climate Change Strategy.
