Central Asia (CA) is experiencing increasing water stress due to changing demand for water, population growth and demand for food security. Shared water resources in the region and the predicted impacts of climate change on the glacial sources of the major rivers, further exacerbate the challenges. Water is at the heart of the socio-economic development and SDG6 is pivotal for most of the other SDGs. Water cooperation is therefore an enabling factor for sustainable economic development and stability in the region. Improving water management is essential to meet the needs of the countries to achieve SDG6. The activity will address water security challenges in CA through advanced research, education, capacity building and cooperation among water experts, policy makers, communities and youth
