Considering the high demand from Member States in Africa for strengthening inclusive and gender-transformative STI systems, and the need to reinforce capacities of policy-makers of SADC countries in formulating and reviewing effective, inclusive and gender transformative STI policies, capacity building initiatives in-line with the approved STI training framework, will be conducted in SADC. These activities are proposed for high-level government decision-makers in ministries in charge of Science, Technology and Innovation, Higher Education, and Gender, as well as parliamentarians. Focus will also be on the application of Open Science for enhancing access to scientific and technological advancements and knowledge sharing, Sustainable Socio-economic Transformation in SADC
