Through Sustainability Science, the science education Activity would focus on competences with an emphasis on learning through science and shifting from STEM to Environmental-STEM by linking science with other subjects and disciplines of the environmental sciences. The Activity aims at facilitating the transition from schools to laboratories through: 1- Hands-on science learning opportunities, exhibitions, workshops using active learning pedagogy sparkling youth interest in science 2- Providing schools and young scientists with microscale scientific equipment allowing science practices in remote and rural areas 3- Establishing an operational network of UNESCO Caribbean Microscience Programme to build capacities and raise awareness
