In order to establish and manage national ocean data and information centres and develop the data and information services and products that are needed to enable science-informed policies related to the IOC themes, member states need to acquire and maintain the necessary national capacities. IODE training and education will assist Member States with this process. Regarding gender IODE will maintain detailed statistics on male/female course applicants/participants..
