Africa's environment is closely linked with its climate. Indeed, the African continent is one of the most vulnerable regions to climate change and is already subject to frequent droughts and famine. Climate change is projected to lead to loss of important coastal habitats, infrastructure along the African coasts (ports, tourism infrastructure, fishery landing sites, etc.). Due to the dependence of the coastal populations on the marine resources and environment, and the wide spread poverty, the communities are particularly vulnerable to the effects and impacts of climate change.
