Project ID 2210431051

During CSW66, UNESCO and UN Women will co-organize the "Fit for Life: sport powering Gender+ Equality" event. This event showcases UNESCO's sport-based initiative, Fit for Life, and its convergence with the work of the Global Observatory for Women and Sport. High-level panellists from development, sport and activist communities will evidence the power of grassroots sport and quality physical education as a driver of SDG 5 and advocate integrated approaches to deliver high-impact investments beginning with the most marginalized communities. Focus will be given to existing data gaps and barriers to participation for girls and women in sport, PE and PA at policy and practice levels; and the role of Fit for Life and the Global Observatory in addressing knowledge gaps and actioning solutions.
