Project ID 2210452051

Namibia stands as pilot for the application of the 2021 Recommendation on the ethics of artificial intelligence. This is an opportunity to build momentum on various global, regional and national initiatives implying the promotion and application of the Recommendation on the ethics of AI. These are the recent adoption of the Windhoek +30 Declaration, the Southern-Africa Conference on AI, the Access to Information Bill and the country assessment on the readiness to contribute to the 4th Industrial Revolution. Support will be provided in testing of the Ethical impact assessment and the Readiness benchmarking methodology. Synergies will be built with interventions related human rights, consolidation of democracy, protection of national sovereignty, fighting hate speech and disinformation.
