This workplan supports capacity building for the effective implementation of the Arab Regional Action Plan of the 1972 World Heritage Convention and the 2011 Recommendation on Historic Urban Landscape in Egypt and Sudan. Assistance will be provided for building capacity to address key issues identified in the Action Plan, including Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation (CCMA), and management plan development of heritage sites for sustainable development in Egypt. Support will be extended to communication, outreach and engagement activities in preparation of COP27 in Egypt in 2022. The workplan will be implemented in partnership with ICOMOS, ICCROM Sharja, and the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH).
