In line with 41C/5 Outcome 5, Output 5.CLT1 & Country Strategy, UNESCO will • engage partners & diverse actors for interdisciplinary discussions on the future of the WH in Nepal, on Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha & Sagarmatha National Park, marking the 50th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention. Priority areas are climate change & heritage conservation, and sustainable tourism, • work closely with national authorities, National Commission for UNESCO & other stakeholders to improve heritage regulatory frameworks and the state of conservation at the 4 WH properties, • in the context of IDIL 2022-2032, support stakeholders to formulate National Action Plan in the framework of Global & Regional Action Plans, with an inter-ministerial meeting for the launch event in 2022.
