The socio-economic and political situation in the Mekong cluster countries impose a wide range of challenges on the World Heritage sites and other heritage sites. New issues continuously arise and the COVID-19 pandemic has created multiplied effects to the sites. The proposed project is designed to build capacity for relevant stakeholders in the Mekong countries, ranging from government agencies, civil society and community groups, so that they can be equipped with updated skills and knowledge to address the emerging challenges in a holistic manner.
