The activity is a continuation to the UNESCO initiative to support the Government of Uzbekistan to strengthen cultural heritage protection system. UNESCO has conducted an assessment of the cultural heritage protection mechanism/legislation of Uzbekistan and provided recommendations and a cultural heritage protection framework, which includes a comprehensive mechanism to protect, manage and promote the cultural heritage in accordance with the international requirements.
