In order to strengthen the implementation of the World Heritage Convention in the Andean subregion, considering in particular the PARALC 2014-2024, as well as the results of the study on the impàct of the pandemic on communities living in and around World Heritage sites in the countries of the cluster, and the development in 2021 of an educational toolkit for encouraging youth involvement, several activities will be developed throughout the 2022-2023 biennium to strengthen local capacities for community involvement in World Heritage sites, in particular considering that communities were heavily hit by the restrictions and closures imposed by the ongoing pandemic.
