This activity aims to strengthen the capacity of targeted West African countries to engage with relevant institutions all over the world holding exhibitions and collections of illicitly exchanged cultural property from West African countries towards the return, restitution, preservation and promotion of such artefacts. The activity will also collaborate with other stakeholders in the region, already working to support the return of cultural property to their original states and situations of origin such as the African Union (AU), the Open Society for West Africa (OSIWA) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to implement regional and continental roadmaps already designed to support the return, restitution, preservation and promotion of cultural artefact
