This workplan supports the regional cooperation for the Underwater Cultural Heritage (UCH) protection, the fight against the illicit trafficking of cultural property through the effective implementation of the 1970 Convention, and the promotion of the role of museums for society under the 2015 Recommendation. Assistance will be provided to support the launch of the UCH MOOC in Arabic in partnership with the UNESCO Chair for UCH at Alexandria University and a regional awareness raising activity on the fight against illicit trafficking of cultural property and museum development in cooperation with the government and museum community in the Arab States.
