The COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating effects on the cultural and creative sectors and industries in the Pacific. The aim of the interventions is to support selected countries that have expressed interest in the ratification of the 2005 Convention, in guiding in the development of policies and measures in support of the diversity of cultural expressions and the sustainability of dynamic and inclusive cultural and creative sectors. The tailored workshops and policy advice will aim to provide a better understanding of the 2005 Convention and the 1980 Recommendation concerning the Status of the Artist in terms of their benefits and implications for Pacific SIDS.
