Project ID 2210622031
Ghana continues its progression on freedom of expression, access to information and safety of journalists. It has unbridled press freedom, an independent judiciary and access to information law overseen by an independent commission. But the environment is littered with outdated judicial practices and nascent access to information management that impede freedom of expression. The purpose of the programme is to strengthen levers that support freedoms and the rule of law in democratic institutions to preserve press freedom and to protect the safety of journalists.
