Project ID 2210623011

UNESCO will continue to raise awareness on the norms and policies related with freedom of expression, press freedom and safety of journalists especially on women journalists' safety amongst duty bearers and right holders in the Maghreb region. UNESCO's support will include capacity building for journalists (rights holders) as well as policy advice for the Member States (duty bearers). These actions will include a special focus on addressing the underlying factors that can improve the safety of women in the media, counter gender-based stereotyping and discrimination in media content. UNESCO will continue to build on our long-standing support to strengthen the implementation of the right to access to information.
