UNESCO will work towards sensitizing and support to the member states to enhance norms and policies related to freedom of expression, press freedom, safety of journalists, including women journalists, and the right to access information, online and offline. UNESCO will organize trainings to the wide range of stakeholders - the government, journalists, media professionals and human rights actors prioritizing themes including safety of journalists, professional journalism, human rights-based approach journalism, media ethics, press freedom, data journalism, gender mainstreaming, minority-sensitive reporting, election reporting, and reporting on pandemic and other crises and provide relevant expertise to support Nepali journalism and leverage that to move forward the SDGs.
