Project ID 2210631021

Created in 1980, the IPDC has acted for over four decades as the UN mechanism to mobilize international support for strengthening the capacities of developing countries and countries-in-transition in news media development. The Programme supports media development projects submitted by grassroots organizations. Through its Intergovernmental Council, the IPDC also plays an important normative and standard-setting role, and acts as a laboratory of ideas for addressing emerging media development challenges. The IPDC also promotes high-quality and gender-responsive journalism education.
