UNESCO Almaty will support Central Asian states and media stakeholders to create an enabling environment for the development of free, independent, and pluralistic media, including community media. In addition, it will implement media development projects that enhance media pluralism and viability and improve the diversity of media organizations and editorial content. UNESCO Almaty will apply practical guidelines and frameworks for implementing inclusive policies, including crisis and emergency situations, and enhance professional reporting on development issues. UNESCO will support gender equality in media and media viability. As well as increase capacities of Journalism schools in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan based on localized quality journalism gender-responsive courses.
