Comprehensive knowledge of HIV transmission among adolescents and young people in Nigeria is still low. Part of the underlying challenges is the poor implementation of FLHE in schools. Within the framework UBRAF's high priority area 2: Primary Prevention young people and persons in Humanitarian emergencies, UNESCO will continue to advocate, promote and strengthen capacities for primary prevention including on gender equality and GBV for effective epidemic control with a focus on adolescents, young women and girls. It will support the capacity building of teachers to deliver quality FLHE, develop protocol for preventing, monitoring and reporting on SRGBV and pilot in selected schools.
