Le présent projet a été initié dans le but de promouvoir l'utilisation des énergies renouvelables afin de relever le défi de la transformation des produits agricoles. De façon globale, les actions du présent projet vont bénéficier à plus de 500 ménages vulnérables membres des groupements qui utiliseront les équipements d'énergies renouvelables pour la transformation de leurs produits. Plus de 30 000 habitants (dont 15 679 femmes) vivants des localités ciblées vont tirer directement ou indirectement des retombées du projet.
