Project ID 534JOR4004

Building on former initiatives for the improved preservation and management of Petra's outstanding heritage, the project aims at ensuring the conservation of one of the most prominent rock-cut façades in Petra by responding to the need of developing local technical skills on heritage conservation and raising awareness among the local community. The project goal will be pursued through: 1) Implementation of a feasibility study to identify priority actions for the conservation of the Royal Tombs water management system, 2) Implementation of a conservation project on the Palace Tomb, 3) Capacity development of the national authorities and the local community on heritage conservation.
