This project strengthens the management capacities of the newly designated first UNESCO Quirimbas Biosphere Reserve in Mozambique to effectively contribute to and benefit from the implementation of the Lima Action Plan for MAB programme and its World Network of Biosphere Reserves, thus ensuring its long-term viability. It continues the successful support provided for the implementation of the MAB Programme in Mozambique. It is to build on and sustain the momentum created to support the Government programme to support the sound management of natural resources and the protection of biodiversity.
