The project, in which UNESCO is one of the 10 partners under the leadership of Leuven University, relates to a Horizon 2020 Call for proposals on "Innovative approaches to urban and regional development through cultural tourism (ID: TRANSFORMATIONS-04-2019-2020)". Its objective is to conceptualize and validate an innovative, community-led approach to sustainable cultural tourism with a view to supporting sustainable development of European regions, with special focus on rural regions and declining cities, and contributing to their resilience and inclusiveness.
