The Project will elaborate a detailed conservation plan for the Minaret, focusing on overall protection, structural stability and monitoring; install a monitoring system; and undertake actual works to safeguard the structure. The Project will also include a strong mentoring component, as it will be implemented through the direct involvement of relevant Afghan authorities and Universities, thereby creating the conditions for its sustainability with a direct beneficial impact on local professionals. Selected experts will work on a continuous basis with a team of Afghan professionals from the Ministries and Universities, thereby providing a significant opportunity to enhance local capacities.
