This project provides additional funding to a) the activities of international teams of Earth scientists, thus strengthening national geoscience capacity, through the International Geoscience Programme, and b) assists with the active building of a more even global spread of UNESCO Global Geoparks as areas that allow local communities to benefit from exceptional geological heritage through the promotion of sustainable economies.
