Quality teachers are key to sustainable global development and their training, recruitment, retention, status and working conditions are among UNESCO's top priorities. In fact, teachers are the single most influential and powerful force for equity, access and quality in education. Supporting teachers through provision of quality trends and practices is essential, to this end best practices in education need to be shared and disseminated throughout the Arab region. Up to date, the project functioned successfully in its main ways: through a regional Arab Education Consultative Group; through a network of National Focal Points; and through an online network and website.
