UNESCO is seeking to partner with key actors of change, notably the private sector, to promote sustainable development. The partnership between UNESCO and abrdn Charitable Foundation ("abrdn") which this Project fits into, seeks to promote the sustainable development of the European region, notably South East Europe and the Mediterranenan. UNESCO's Regional Bureau for Science and Culture will work with its partners and sites on the ground to promote research, education and projects working notably with UNESCO's intergovernmental science programmes (MAB and IHP, as well as IOC).
