Under the direct supervision of the Head of Section, Ocean Observations and Services, the Assistant Programme Specialist seconded by SOA will be responsible for assisting in matters related to GOOS. Specifically: • Support the GOOS Observations Coordination Group (OCG) • Act as lead secretariat support to the technical secretariat of DBCP and other OCG networks as appropriate • Support the work of the Joint WMO-IOC Collaborative Board; • Conduct and contribute to outreach, communication, and Capacity Development activities within the GOOS and the IOC, and • Additional activities for ocean observations and services at IOC, such as the IOC governing body sessions.
