The main objective of IHP's current, eighth phase (IHP-VIII 2014-2021) is to put science into action required for water security. Under this framework, the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe will provide support to decision and to policy-makers for a sound management of shared water resources and related ecosystem services in river basins with a particular focus on transboundary ones.
