Project ID 650RER4000.52

In the aftermath of the earthquake that hit Albania at the end of November 2019, the Digitization of the archive of the National Institute for cultural heritage has been identified as a critical activity to ensure the recovery and safeguarding of valuable archival documents, as well as a risk reduction measure to reinforce disaster preparedness. Currently, most of the archival material is still stored as paper (original documents), being thus highly vulnerable respect to natural or human induced disasters. The archive was also a key asset for the elaboration of the PDNA to assess the damages of cultural heritage in the country.
