The project is conceived to tap the economic potential of tourism at cultural and religious heritage sites and areas in their vicinity in Punjab, Pakistan. The main objective of the intervention is to contribute to the economic development of Punjab, Pakistan by promoting and increasing effectively managed tourism to the religious and cultural heritage sites through capacity building of the duty bearers and engaging community in income generating activities. The aim is to also foster tolerance and peace by raising cultural awareness and implementing effective cultural heritage and tourism management policies and plans through institutional reform.
