The Mayan Train is the main development project of the Government of Mexico. It is a project of territorial ordering, infrastructure, socioeconomic growth and sustainable tourism, which integrates more than 16 indigenous peoples and territories of great natural and cultural heritage, as well as a diversity of cultural expressions. This programme is forged to carry out a comprehensive accompaniment from the UNESCO's holistic vision to reinforce people-centered development through the recognition and appreciation of their cultures and the contributions of these cultures for improving wellbeing, in the framework of the SDG's.
