This initiative seeks to contribute to the protection of fundamental rights, namely freedom of expression, through awareness raising on (1) international standards on freedom of expression; and (2) the importance to guarantee the safety of journalists, including women journalists, towards the realization of sustainable development goals (SDG 16) in the Sahel region.
